Families Hello
brothers and sisters in Christ. It
is a beautiful thing to be called into the Christian family and it is
amazing the depths of the relationship we are called to be in with one
another. Already in my time here I have seen many people showing such
family love and care for one another. I
guess when we think of the closest relationship our thoughts turn to the
relationship between the Father and the Son. The
perfect relationship that has been and will continue for eternity.
That perfect relationship of divine love. When I dwell on that
relationship it seems all the more amazing the relationship that we are
called into with one another. In John Chapter 17 Jesus prays for us with
these words. “My
prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me
through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you
are in me and I am in you.” Here
is the incredible oneness that we are called into as we relate to each
other. We are to have that same unity that the Father has with the Son.
This is the prayer of Jesus for us. As we think about this I believe it is
a challenge for us to put aside those things that hinder our relationships
with one another and work hard at being people of love. You
see in becoming a Christian we are brought into more than just a
relationship modeled on the family we are also brought into a relationship
modeled on the divine. Adam Street |
